The JustFaith Ministries staff and board are deeply concerned about the recent attacks on democracy, which have taken the form of deporting immigrants without due process; defunding of humanitarian aid; random firing of federal employees; dismantling diversity, equity and inclusion efforts; suppressing voters, speech, and media; and perpetuating the Doctrine of Discovery by violating Indigenous land and rights and threatening to seize other countries.
In this time of destruction, JustFaith remains committed, more than ever to creating transformative programs that inspire action to address root causes of injustice while serving with love – a love that transcends social barriers and embodies care for the world. Through our programs, we will continue to foster communities of trust where participants practice addressing differences with mutual respect and deep listening, as they discern together how the Gospel is calling them to respond to the justice concerns that weigh on their hearts. Through our Acting for Justice webinars and live events, we will uplift the voices of prophetic faith leaders to empower you with timely resources and guidance. And we will support our partner and collaborating organizations in their organizing, advocacy, and education efforts in defense of democracy and the care of all God’s people and creation.
If you, like us, are concerned about attacks on democracy, please join us in taking action. Regardless of whether you are most concerned about creation care, racial justice, poverty, immigration, Indigenous rights, preventing gun violence, navigating polarization and division, or finding strategies to organize most effectively, there is a place for you here. We endeavor to make our programs more accessible to all communities, especially those most underserved and inequitably affected in these times. Schedule a call with Leila Oakley, Director of Outreach and Operations, to discern how you can get involved.
We lift our voices and energy in nonviolently resisting any movement towards undemocratic processes. And we lend our expertise in helping to bring healing.
