More than two dozen religious groups have filed lawsuits challenging the Trump administration’s immigration enforcement policy.  On February 10, 2025, Pope Francis issued a letter to the United States Catholic Bishops presenting an unambiguous challenge to actively respond to an ideology on immigration that misrepresents biblical teaching, saying it “distorts social life and imposes the will of the strongest as the criterion of truth.”  How do the people of good will oppose this agenda in a practical way?  How can each of us become a deeply informed force against what causes suffering and a beacon for human solidarity?
