DEI are Gospel Values! Speaking Up and Preaching in a Time of Open Persecution

The constant attacks on diversity are pressuring businesses and local institutions, halting critical medical research, and threatening academic scholarships – even the Librarian of Congress was fired over the “pursuit of DEI.” How can Christians speak up in this present moment? How do we preach the good news in a time of open persecution of the values of our faith? The obligation of people of faith is to resist. In this webinar, Fr. Manuel Williams shares a call to resistance–with our prayers, but also our ballots, our bucks, and our bodies.

Rev. Manuel B. Williams, C.R., CFRE, M.Div., Th.M. is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame, Aquinas Institute of Theology, St. Louis, and Xavier University of Louisiana, New Orleans, LA. Father Williams preaches revivals and missions throughout the U.S., specializing in African American Catholic spirituality and history, and is an adjunct instructor at the Institute for Black Catholic Studies at Xavier University New Orleans. Fr. Williams has co-taught a course on Anti-Racism Preaching, and authored a chapter in Preaching Racial Justice (Orbis Books 2023).
