Most merciful God,
We confess before you and one another that we have sinned by thought, word, and, deed, in what we have done, and in what we have failed to do.
We have not loved you with our whole hearts. We have not loved our neighbors as ourselves, neither our neighbors next door, nor our neighbors across the world.
Have mercy on us, O God.
We have desecrated your sacred land, air and water with our greed and pollution.
Have mercy on us, O God.
We have hoarded the gifts you have given us for ourselves, while others cry out for food.
Have mercy on us, O God.
Through our purchases, individual and collective, we have funded exploitation, war, and suffering.
Have mercy on us, O God.
We have allowed fear to divide us. We have chosen hatred over love.
Hear our prayer, Creator God, who makes good things even out of dust.
Create in us and through us once again.
