One of the most important things I learned in this series is how much I didn’t know! I am far from alone: Our educational systems in the U.S. have white-washed our base of knowledge about our racial history. The readings, assignments and discussions in this series were constructive, even when difficult. We felt safe sharing our opinions, personal history and beliefs, and left empowered to take a stand against injustice. I cannot recommend this series more highly.
EngagingSpirituality is an excellent program and just what I needed. The connection of contemplation and justice is powerful indeed. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to strengthen their prayer life, and their ability to create positive change in the world.
The Just Action program is a vital resource for any group feeling called to justice ministry. I especially appreciated the time allotted to applying the conversations to local problems, as well as the step-by-step guided process for how to begin advocating for those in the community who are being affected by the issues we identified. Wherever you are on your journey in justice ministry, this is an excellent curriculum for honing your sense of engagement and advocacy in your community.
