Register for the Acting for Justice Prayer Night

Holy Week for the People: A Prayer Service

The people wanted a king. Jesus spent his last meal breaking bread with friends – including his betrayers. The state used violence to assert its dominance (sound familiar?). Jesus rose, and the disciples carried on to build God’s Kin-dom in the face of social injustice and extreme repression.

As we approach Holy Week, join us to consider how our present moment echoes the authoritarian forces Jesus faced, as well as discern how we are called to joyful resistance, radical love, and the way of the cross.

Join us on Thursday, April 10 at 7:00pm ET/4:00pm PT for a special Acting for Justice prayer event. We will journey through four days of Holy Week (Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter Sunday), allow each day’s accompanying biblical stories to speak to our current reality, and pray for one another, our neighbors, and our world.
