Do you want to address racism in your community, but you don’t know where to begin? This eight-week program guides participants in telling the truth about the history of racism in the United States, that we might work toward restoration with one another. This second program in JustFaith Ministries’ racial justice series explains the historical context behind the racial inequalities we face today, whether in education, the criminal justice system, or in the workforce. Though we focused specifically on enslaved Africans and their descendants, this program will open participants’ eyes to patterns of injustice that affect other diverse groups across the nation as well. (Note: This program is designed for those who are not affiliated with a particular religious tradition or who identify as “spiritual-but-not-religious.” An alternative version is available for those aligned with Christian churches.)

This pilot program will begin on January 13, 2022 with an opening retreat and eight, two-hour sessions on Thursday evenings from 7-9pm ET . There is no cost to participate in this group, but participants are expected to provide feedback on their experience throughout the program and by filling out an end of program evaluation.

JustFaith Ministries is a national organization whose mission and vision is to build a more just, equitable and peaceful world. Through small group programs we invite learning and inspire action around contemporary social issues. While the majority of our programs are Christian-based, we have versions of our programs that are designed for a more broadly spiritual audience to inspire action regardless of any particular religion or spiritual affiliation.
