We Won’t Take It Any Longer: Understanding the 2020 Black Protest Movement
JustFaith Ministries is hosting a special Acting for Justice While Sheltering in Place webinar. This special webinar will delve into recent events that have led to nationwide protests. Dr. Lewis Brogdon, the Visiting Professor of Preaching and Black Church Studies and chair of the Department of Religion at Simmons College of Kentucky, will guide participants into a study of factors that led to mass protests. He will also address topics such as protests during the Civil Rights Movement, Martin Luther King Jr.’s philosophy of nonviolent direct action, Dr. King’s warnings about continued unrest in America, and why white silence and blindness is fueling black moral outrage and nihilism. If you want to understand the “why” behind what’s happening in order to form your advocacy response, then register for this special webinar. Dr. Brodgon and Simmons College have provided consultation and support on JustFaith Ministries racial justice program series.
