Join us on Thursday, January 21, 7:00 p.m. EST, to hear Dr. Lewis Brogdon address the topic, “The Unknown King: Why You Need a Class on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.”

We all do it: MLK week in America – we attend a special service or watch a clip of the conclusion of his famous “I have a dream” speech. We say Dr. King was a great man who inspired America and the world. Then we go home . . . What a disservice to legacy of Dr. King and the thousands involved in the freedom struggle during the 1950s and 60s!

As racism has emerged as an issue we can no longer ignore, it is time to do something different. We need to take Dr. King seriously as a civil rights leader and a radical intellectual leader whose ideas spurred a movement of global change. Join JustFaith Ministries, in partnership with Simmons College (historically black college), as we help you understand why you need a class on Martin Luther King, Jr.

This presentation anticipates the special six-week series, to be offered in February and March, on King entitled “The Unknown King.”

Dr. Brogdon is the Visiting Professor of Preaching and Black Church Studies and chair of the Department of Religion at Simmons College of Kentucky.
